The name SEBAGO (meaning great expanse of water in Indian) was chosen in 1946 by the founder, Mr Wellehan Sr., out of respect for Indian culture and because the company was established in Maine USA, near the lake Sebago.SEBAGO is known for its Penny Loafers, better known in Europe as moccasins. The quality of the leather, the robust sewing made entirely by hand by skilled craftsmen characterize the Penny Loafers of SEBAGO and guarantee a longer life and a better comfort.Based on this experience, SEBAGO, passionate about the sea, wanted to develop practical and sporting shoes, resistant to sea water, non-slip and insulating, ideal for the enthusiasts of boat decks. Since then, this type of shoes has become fashionable all over the world. First in Maine then in the United States and Europe. Docksides have enriched themselves with new colors, which are renewed every year. The only real DOCKSIDES have been produced by SEBAGO since 1969.
